Optimisation of steel properties in over 200 plants

Improving the mechanical properties

One or more heat treatment steps give the steel its functional properties and the possibility of further processing, be it annealing the ingot after casting or forming, tempering or hardening the steel bar, or stress relieving to reduce residual stresses:

Swiss Steel Group's plants have well over 200 facilities in which the steels are heat-treated in accordance with standards or specifications.

High-alloy tool steels are often used with a hardness of >60 HRC. Swiss Steel Group operates hardening shops worldwide that are specially equipped for hardening tool steels.
