The principles of our activities are the conservation of resources, energy efficiency, product recyclability, minimizing emissions, safety at the workplace, continuous innovation and an open dialogue with our stakeholders.

How we define CSR

CSR for Swiss Steel Group means to consider the success of the company from the following three perspectives: Economic performance, Environmental performance and Social performance. This means that we analyse and assess all three performance areas along specified key performance indicators (KPIs).

Multifaceted implementation

We follow CSR principles in diverse ways 

By ensuring health and safety, supporting personal and professional development of our employees, creating new job opportunities for young people, continuously improving our production processes and environmental measures to reduce our ecological footprint. By using scrap as a primary raw material, we conserve valuable resources and ensure the company's economic success through efficiency measures. We strive to be as close as possible to our customers worldwide, and our compliance regulations are an integral part of our corporate philosophy. We take responsibility to ensure that all our products and services are provided in a sustainable and ethical manner.

Our strategy and main goals

We integrate CSR in the core of our business model by focusing on and evaluating the key concerns of our stakeholders. Every stakeholder of Swiss Steel Group should be able to understand our CSR approach and know how to support it. This is in line with our long-term goal to create a profitable, innovative and global group for special long steel.

Main CSR goals of the Swiss Steel Group are:

  • Make CSR an integral part of the Swiss Steel Group value chain from purchase to production, processing, sales and distribution
  • Balance out and continuously improve economic, environmental and social performance
  • Make a positive impact on society in a sustainable and ethical way

Reporting of Corporate Social Responsibility

CSR at Swiss Steel Group is continuously developing. The progress in CSR will be reported annually in the annual report of the corresponding year. As a guideline in developing CSR reporting for Swiss Steel Group, the principles of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards are followed. With its "Machinability – Keep the World Turning" campaign, Swiss Steel Group is launching an international initiative to promote competence and innovation in machining. The campaign celebrates the partnership between Swiss Steel Group and the machinists who turn steel into progress – highlighting how material expertise, precision and collaboration keep the world moving. The campaign will kick off on 21 and 22 October 2025 at the Ugitech site in Ugine (France) with presentations and discussions on current developments in the machining of stainless steels and engineering steels.
