Quality Management

Quality Assurance from scrap to alloying

Companies within Swiss Steel Group have effective quality management systems and hold numerous certificates and approvals, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS 9100.

Our quality assurance begins with the selection of raw materials from scrap to alloying agents, from melting to casting, from internal, surface, dimensional, and identity checks in the rolling mills and forging adjustments or in the bright steel lines to mechanical and technological testing of samples. All production processes are monitored, controlled, and managed by us.

Through our complete process documentation, we can ensure consistently high quality with reproducible results at all times. Furthermore, based on the latest information and insights, we continuously optimize processes within the manufacturing chain.

Site-specific certifications & approvals

Our locations have specific certifications and approvals that ensure the quality and safety of our products. The site-specific certifications and approvals play a crucial role in our production processes.

Industry Accreditations

We have numerous accreditations from companies in the aerospace and automotive industries. Many of the special processes we use to manufacture products for the aerospace industry are accredited under the Nadcap program. Additional accreditations, building approvals, power plant approvals, and certificates for pressure vessel construction complete this spectrum.

Accredited testing laboratories

Professional manufacturing requires professional quality assurance. In our laboratories, we can analyze the composition of various components and products, determine mechanical properties, and characterize the microstructure. This ensures compliance with customer requirements and provides a basis for improving the production process. Quality assurance is provided through accompanying tests and proficiency testing to demonstrate the quality of the testing. In addition, our well-equipped laboratories are available for investigations on behalf of external customers.

Environmental & Energy Management

Protecting the Natural Habitat

Certification according to the international standards ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 is evidence of our holistic approach in terms of ecology and economy. Entrepreneurial decisions are always evaluated for their environmental impact. Compliance with legal regulations for environmental protection is a matter of course. Environmental protection and economic viability are directly related. To be ecologically successful, economic performance must be ensured.
