The focus is on concrete measures in production. In 2025, the first electrically powered forging furnace was commissioned in Canada. In France, the conversion of a furnace to hybrid heating began. At the same time, new combustion processes were tested as part of an innovation project.
Another focus is on transparency. Swiss Steel Group has introduced a system for calculating the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and is continuing to expand it. This provides customers with traceable and verified CO₂ data for their products - an important basis for their own sustainability assessments and decisions.
Independent assessments also demonstrate that this approach is effective: Swiss Steel Group once again received the top grade of “A” in the CDP rating for climate protection. Additionally, the company was awarded the EcoVadis Platinum Medal, placing it among the top one percent of companies evaluated worldwide.
The groundwork for future requirements has also been laid: the double materiality assessment has been updated. This ensures that sustainability management remains closely aligned with regulatory developments and the expectations of customers and partners.
The 2025 Sustainability Report meets the legal requirements of the Swiss Code of Obligations and provides a transparent overview of developments in the areas of environment, social issues, and corporate governance.
