Since the late 1970’s the company has been active in the distribution of Specialty Steel Long Products for the US market. In 2004 the former ThyssenKrupp Specialty Steels was acquired by by Schmolz + Bickenbach and in 2008 a merger of the former Ugitech USA and Swiss Steel USA was completed to create one entity that remains today.  The activities of Swiss Steel USA are focused on providing the highest  quality Tool Steels, Stainless Steels, and Engineering Steels.The company operates six Service Centers located throughout the Midwest, East Coast and West Coast. Territory Managers, located throughout the USA, and Technical Support Specialists, equipped with in house metallurgical lab  capabilities, are available to provide comprehensive sales and technical support to our valued customers.

  • Stainless coil to bar drawing (SMQ) – 5-25mm dia
  • Bar Line Marking   
  • Vacuum Heat Treatment & Tempering – 10 Bar 
  • Custom Saw Cutting – up to 40” x 80”

Carol Stream, IL (Chicago)

Operational since 1985 the Carol Stream location includes USA/CAN Corporate Headquarters, Sales Office and the company’s largest Tool Steel processing and distribution location. The primary processing activities include saw cutting, machining, grinding and vacuum heat treatment. Technical services including a fully equipped metallurgical lab are also located at the Carol Stream location.

Batavia, IL (Chicago)

Operational since 2006 the Batavia location activities include both Stainless Steel bar processing and distribution. Batavia is the company’s largest Stainless Steel bar distribution Service Center and hub location for the US market.Bar processing includes two cold drawing lines producing SMQ™ stainless bars in the range of 5-25mm diameter. Other value added services include custom saw cutting and bar line marking.

Streetsboro, OH (Cleveland)

Operational since 1994 the Streetsboro location specializes in the distribution of Tool Steel round bars up to 32” diameter as well as Stainless Steel round, flat and hexagon bars. Processing activities include a complete range of custom saw cutting.

Mahwah, NJ (Newark)

Operational since 2001 the Mahwah location serves the entire Northeast market.The primary activities include the distribution of Stainless Steel round, flat and hexagon bars. Processing activities include custom saw cutting.

Brea, CA (Los Angeles)

Operational since 2002 the Brea location serves the West Coast market. The original Stainless Steel distribution activities were expanded in 2012 to include Tool Steel distribution. Processing activities include custom saw cutting.
